Ignition Switch Stuck
My 91 Camry ignition switch is stuck - it won't budge at all. I've tried rocking the car and moving the steering wheel but the car's in park so it doesn't rock very far. I've also tried moving the steering wheel but it locked in place. This started when I was putting on snow-chains and asked my wife to turn the wheels - she tried to turn them with the car turned off. The wheels locked so I told her to start the car and turn tehm - then we learned the iginition switch was locked as well..Any ideas?

Re: Ignition Switch Stuck
Just to let you know that sometimes when the vehicle is on a slope or an incline, you have turn the steering wheel harder which gives you enough clearance to turn the ignition switch.
I've had many calls from relatives telling me that they can't turn the ignition switch. I told them turn the steering wheel harder but they could not turn it. I did it and showed them and sometimes you have to use your elbow as well to get leverage to turn the wheel enough while you turn the ignition switch. |
