2002 Prelude Type S?

I was thinkin about getting one. Does anyone have a website or do you have specs on the car? I just want to know things like MPG, weight, etc. i already know it has a 200hp 2.2L DOHC VTEC H22A4. Anymore information? Thanks for the help.

I don't think there was a type s in america, but we have a 2000 type-sh. We really like it, but you can't be too specific on what you want. We wanted a black SH and it took the dealer a while to get us one. First they had one in AZ, my gf put a deposit on it, they sold it, she was rather upset. Then after about a month, they got us one from somewhere in ohio I think. All together it too about 2 months to get a new black type SH, and the one we got came with a crappy tint job, so we had to get that redone.

Well i thought i've seen the Type S here but maybe not. My friend sergio just got a brand new perlude Type SH and i noticed the redline was at 7500. I dont know, i've seen a few at the dealership so i know they have them i just havent stopped in to see what model they were. Thanks for the help tho. Does anyone still have specs on the Type S or even the Type SH?

type-s is 220hp model with ATTS also. It has a port and polish, 11.0:1 compression, a higher lifting cam, different intake, 2mm bigger TB, different valve grind, bigger downpipe, cat, exhaust piping, and I even think they came with a blue valve cover

Well, you can either choose from the base model or the Type-SH, or if you live in Canada SE (that's me). The only main difference between the SH and base is the ATTS system, and the Type-SH weighs a couple hundred lbs more. Base owners will tell you to get base, SH owners will tell you SH. But find out what's best for you.

actually the weight difference is only about 90 lbs. i believe, and I have driven both, and the SH is a much better handling car, the base model may be a little quicker in a straight line, but not much.

Mfg curb weights are such:
Prelude (MT) - 2954lbs
Prelude (AT) - 3009lbs (+55lbs, +1.8%)
Prelude SH (MT) - 3042 lbs (+88lbs, +2.9%)

Probably around 50 lbs of the SH's extra weight is the ATTS unit, the rest is pretty much in the thicker suspension components.

Although it's not advertised in the listed flywheel hp specs, the SH does have ever so slightly larger third cam lobes, ostensibly giving it ever so slightly more peak hp. IMHO, Honda did this to equalize the slight weight penalty.

A Base vs. SH trim in any straight line test is going to be damn close (i.e. entirely up to the drivers).
