no spark from 3 plugs on 88 century

before i spend money on a part, could someone help out with a quick diagnosis. no sprark from 3 plugs, think they are cylinders 4 5 and 2.
its a 2.8 multiport. could the problem be the ignition module, coil assembley, or emc. also fuel pump stoped working, will run when i pump it.
help before i spend money on parts i dont need please

and by the way i checked sprak wires and installed new plugs. all are good.

and code is 12, not showing any problems

Re: no spark from 3 plugs on 88 century

I would replace the coil module located on the front of the engine. It sounds like the coils are going bad and are not firing. Since the coils are seperate they may go bad seperately. One coil fires plugs 5 and 2 and one coil fires plugs 1 and 4. The coils are not expensive to replace. As for the fuel pump if it stopped working then it could be the fuel pump relay causing the problem although it could be a bad pump. If the pump is bad then replace it yourself. You will need to drop the tank but it is fairly easy from there. Good Luck.
