Stock 2.5L Turbo (STi Engine) vs. Modded 3.0L H6 (Top Outback engine)
Wouldnt the 3.0L H6 be able beat the STi's engine, with mods to the 3.0? The turbo 2.5L leaves less to be done to it (right???) than what you could do with the 3.0L H6, more room for modding = faster than 2.5?
Or is there something i dont know about? Teach this (me) noob =D

Re: Stock 2.5L Turbo (STi Engine) vs. Modded 3.0L H6 (Top Outback engine)
There's evidently a lot you don't know....
The STI engine has a different block , different valves, different pistons etc to it's n/a 2.5 counterpart, these differences extend to the 3.0 engine. You could most definitely get more power out the H6 engine with mild mods, but the engine won't last, eventually the parts will fail due to the fact they're not made for the higher outputs and the stress loads they bring with them. On the other hand, the STI engine with mods will handle more hp simply because the components are designed to handle heavier requirements.
