strange noise when starting up

In the past couple of days I've noticed a rattling-type noise when starting my car up (2000 Sunfire). It starts and stays running just fine. We just had a bout of really cold, snowy weather and I haven't driven it in about two weeks. The last time I got my oil changed, I was told that I have a crack in my serpentine belt. Think this could be the cause of the strange noise? I hear no squeaks though when the car is idling. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is this something that can be fixed without going to a shop?

just see if the 2 bolts on the starter are loose. If they are just tighten them
