"New" 1993 Ford Probe SE

Hey Guys. Just bought a used 1993 Ford Probe SE 6 days ago. I have a few questions if you don't mind...

The car itself is running great. When I went to the car lot, I saw a wonderful 1995 FPGT 2.5L, however, the whole car was shot, pure undrivable, though the engine was still running good. So I figured I'd get the SE, which is in excellent condition, and just replace the 4-cyl engine with the GT 6-cyl enginer later. I've looked through the forums already as to see if this question was already answered, but I'm still confused between the first and second generation Probe. Which v6 engines are eligible to replace my 2.0L?

I appreciate all the help and input from you guys! Thanks and take care!
