What size ball mount

I was just wondering how much of a drop others are using when installing a ball mount. I recently hauled a tow dolly, so I had to buy the drop mount. I went with a 2" drop, but in retrospect it looks a little high. Thinking maybe I should have gone with a 4" drop. I have a 99 1500 4X4.

Re: What size ball mount

It all depends on trailer height (trailer level) and the height of the receiver on the towing vehicle. Some vehicles will require more drop than others.

If you're gonna be towing different small trailers, rather than getting a set drop, get an adjustable drop drawbar.
