Axle Ratio/Towing Capacity

Greetings,

I have a 03 Trailblazer LT EXT (4.2 I6) and I am thinking about buying an RV. I am confused about my towing capacity because I do not know the Axle Ratio -- which, according the the owners manual, is something I need to determine the towing capacity. Where can I find the axle ratio?

TIA!!!

Thanks for the reply. I do not have the original window sticker -- so I guess I will call the dealer.

Thanks again!!

Re: Axel Ratio/Towing Capacity

Take a look in the glovebox for the RPO codes (three letter/number codes on a sticker). See what the "G" codes are. GU6 is the standard and most common, 3.42 ratio. 3.73 and the 4.10's were optional...which I think were GU7 and something else. Not sure what, but I can look it up if you have something different. FWIW, if you have a G80 code, it means you have a limited slip in the back...

Towing capacity should be located on the doorjam sticker. The same place where tire inflation recommendation is located.
