Talking Custom made CF Intake

O.K. this is the first of three stages of making my custom CF intake...
I'll do the intake pipe...air box...and the pipe to airbox from front bumper...so this is what I already did the cutsom made intake from carbon fibre it's something like j'racing with the exeption that fits in my car with b seria swap and some modiff in the engine bay(batterie in trunk) so that is why it's little funny lookin'...

Intake pipe done (as much air as the Apexi filter can give)

This is my first product from CF, that is why I'll do one more, cause this one doesn't look as nice as it could, oh and I need to spray (clear coat) it..

P.S.: what do you think

Re: Custom made CF Intake

This one is a short ram...
Cause this pipe will lead to AIR BOX that I have to made and then I'll do a pipe that will go from front bumper to that air box so it'll be something like comptech airboxes...but I made that first pipe from IM to my air box so unique that it can be short ram or just leading pipe to airbox...

Re: Re: Custom made CF Intake

first off hi emil

it looks really good! good job. but now i have to hate you. i've been the only person i know with a 100% real carbon fiber intake.

i guess i won't hate you too much since you made it for the stock airbox

First of all that intake is not made for stock airbox, airbox will be also made CUSTOM for the Apexi filter with big whole in it (as wide as Apexi gets) and then a big whole on the bottom for taking air from the front bumper ... totally custom and totally different than it was done till now...cause it's done exactlly for my set up ;0)
about making it, you must realize that that is first thing done by me out of carbon, but I did lots of things from poliester-ordinary fiber glass...
When you're dealing with carbon you must have all the things necesery, carbon fiber sheet, PV- some kind of polivinly- liquid (you put that one before you do anything with carbon fibre that thing seperate cf from the model, then the most important is the mixture of epoxy and Epoxy Hardener (100% epoxy and 38% Epoxy Hardener that is my mixture, but every epoxy has it's own mixture and you must be very precise about mixture, I bought a "digital weight device" ;0) )
then the temp must be right also it shouldn't be to cold !!!! And you must wax and polish your model very good before you put on that "liquid polivinly"

Re: Custom made CF Intake

It took me about one week and a half to do the model, then the "kalup" the thing in the midlle and the the product from cf...I was doing that when I got back from job and long into the night most of the time went into model..cause it must be perfect-smooth and nice...

Thanx for comments ;0)

Re: Custom made CF Intake

That intake is made for APEXi filter...cause if you've seen that filter it doesn't bolt on IM like others but you must add one more piece to it so you can put it on, so that intake is made for apexi filter and it doesnt need that additional piece but you screw the apexi on that intake ...If anyone will want one I can made it more (just must get grip(get used to work) with carbon fibre)...
