Some more "who would win..." Q's

OK, I just drove one of my lady friends 2002 Turbo Beatle, and I just want to say that it was a lot faster than I expected. But for such a small turbo it had quite a bit of lag, but when it got up to speed the car went...

On that note, was curious about a couple cars. The SS Cobolt, the Cooper S, the 1.8T Beatle, and the Scion tC. All of which come in manual or auto. All but the Eclipse and the tC are forced induction of some kind, and All, aside from the Beatle, have close HP and torque. Im pretty sure off the line the power of the V6 would dominate, but I have a feeling the Cobolt (Supercharged...no lag with PSI off the line) Would probably beat me. But the others I am curious about. Please, Post your thoughts.

you can get the tC with a supercharger from toyota. it will bump up the power to 220hp. if the tC is supercharged, then you will lose to it. since the SS Cobalt is rated almost exactly the same as a GT eclipse, its lighter so it would have the advantage. dont know about the others

I am assuming that you are male, so i'd prolly stay away from the beatle or else you may be considered a "homosexual" no offense if you are

Re: Some more "who would win..." Q's

agreed on the beetle comment,

the cooper is also a lot smaller, so if you do happen to have someone pull in front of you...the engine will be in your lap in seconds

the cobalt will most likely fit your suit if you like domestics more my best bet is it hits the low 15's very easily and w/ tweaking will hit 14's of course i've never seen one or driven/experienced one but i think you'd be better off going w/ the eclipse V6 or 2g turbo
as for the scion i just don't know

OH NOOOO, I would never myself by a Beatle, I have an 00GT 5sp. I was just curious about outcomes. Since the owner of the beatle is a girl...a new manual driver (Not good at all...i feel bad for her clutch), I dont think she would give me an accurate race. All of the cars are FWD, the Beatle and Mini are the only ones that have traction control i believe. I love my car, the only things i would probably trade it in for (realisticly) would be an STi or a 97-98 SupraTT.

Probably the wrong thread, but has anyone turbo'd a GT yet? If so how much for just parts...(Turbo, Manifold, Intercooler, Fuel Injectors/Pump, Oil Lines, BOV...yada yada yada) My friend has a sweet garage, and his dad is a motor head, so If i can get the parts I can probably put it in no prob. And is an Oil Cooler really needed? 12-15 lbs of boost.

you are probably looking at $1000-$2000 depending on the brands that you get and where you get them from. there have been about 10 that i know of that turboed their GT. you wont need a manifold. your stock one will do fine.

Hey that beatle has some balls. Possible with a custome body kit, chopped roof line, and a few other thing it would be really nice. Wasnt there a newer beatle racing in the WRC a few years back?
