What is the cause of the "HEMI TICK" sound

I know this is in all Hemi's
But I cant figure out where it actualy comes from.

After the truck is warm and idleing you just hear it tick away .
Its not the injectors, and ive listened every where i could reach with a stick or hose. Dealership's say they all do it but have no idea why.

Just cant figure it out.

Anyone have any ideas or heard anything from a dealership?

Bleeddodge, do you have any ideas?

I just want to know what it is.

No I don't have any ideas. I don't know why real engines make noise at all. Come on.

You won't have any fun with that new truck if you're paranoid all the time.

Mine does the same thing. Thought is was just mine. Sounds kind of like rocker arms on an old Chevy V8 (with solid lifters) to me.

The 5.4 Fords make the same sound too.

BleedDodge

didnt hear it on my 04 f-150 at all. Only thing heard on my 04 ford was the knock from the cam phaser, and the diesel sound from under the truck whe you pulled up next to something like at the drivethrough.

BUt as for this new dodge..
The truck runs good so far. have the big 800 miles on it now.
Irealy enjoy driving it. I still would like to know what the tick is but...

Any Way;;

Just got through with some mods too.
set 265 70r17 BF Goodrich AT KO
chrome nerf bars westons
Line x spray in bed liner
Tinted back window darker

Truck looks real nice. tires make such a difference.

LOL, you sure are jumping into the Dodge scene head first aren't ya? Well, welcome, and remember that there is no limit to how good a Dodge can be with an appreciative (not to mention upgrade-frantic) owner.

It's MOPAR or NO CAR!

I envy your tire upgrade Suprteck. I may also slap some window tint on the back window in the Spring when it warms up a bit.
