Got a new turbo...need help

I recently bought a Garrett turbo from an 87-88 Saab 9000-not sure of the exact kind though but I heard Garrett makes them pretty well....and I have a friend that does metal work....but I was looking for any info , suggestions, or ideas anybody might have. Pretty much anything anybody might add would be helpful. Oh yeah I have a 93 Honda civic DX ( Hey..everybody has to start somewhere ). The exhaust and intake have already been upgraded... planning on a new ignition, fuel rail, and injectors if I really do need those ?And anything else I might need ? Thanks for the help in advance.

dont get the fuel rail. it's useless for your application... it's designed for large amounts of boost/drag cars. the stock rail is more than sufficient.

rebuild the turbo. it's about $200 or so to have it done, unless you have the prior knowledge to do it yourself. even tho it may seem to spin freely, you have no idea what kind of bearing damage has occurred if any.

i've seen a Garrett out of a Volvo that spun fine, no wobble or shaft play. we then removed the exhaust housing, and the turbine and half of the shaft fell out, broken. further internal inspection of the center section revealed they previous owner never changed the oil. the exhaust housing was even destroyed due to the turbine blades rubbing for so long against it.

but it spun fine when it was all together... which is why i say rebuild it now or possibly pay the price later.

dude

The first thing you will need is Corky Bell's Turbocharging book. This is an absolute requirement. There is more information between its covers than in all of the online forums combined. And I'm talking practical, useful stuff, not just equations only. It will show you what you need to finish the job. Check Amazon to get a copy.

get upgraded injectors. if you're running 10psi or less, get injectors that are 100cc more flow than stock.
