Just Bought My First Aurora

Just bought a 1999 Aurora at the auction that did not include the key fobs. Anyone know the part number of the key fob for this vehicle. Would rather buy an ebay special than pay the dealer ripoff price.

You still need to get the receiver and the key fob to learn
about each other, since these are code hoppers. The dealer
cost for a key fob wasn't bad, it was the cost to have them
program it that was more.

Go to Ebay and type in the GM #'s for a search. You will find some of these for NEW around $25-30.

program new transmitters

The DLC is under driver side dashboard. It's tapered on the ends. The wider horizontal row of female pin connectors is where you count from left to right(driver to passenger side), the 4th input and 8th input. The 8th is the last one. Some are color coded, some are numbered(very small). My car has neither, so count to be sure. Ideally, a fused jumper wire should be used to protect the electronics. Most use a SMALL paper clip. I used arts&crafts wire. Just don't damage the pin receptacle.

1/ Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2/ Use a fused jumper wire in order to jumper the Data Line Connector terminal 8 (BLK/WHT) to terminal 4 (BLK).
3/ Close all of the doors.
4/ Turn ON the ignition switch. The doors will cycle to lock.
5/ Press and hold the following buttons on one of the fobs
6/ LOCK
7/ UNLOCK
After a 30 second delay, the doors will lock and unlock.


In order to program extra transmitters, repeat Step 5.
Important
Do not turn off the ignition. If the switch is turned off, the first transmitter becomes inoperative.
