Broken hood release cable - 89 Astro

The hood release cable gave out on my 89 Astro. There must be a way to unlatch the hood. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey,
Try taking your headlight covers and your grill off, then take a rachet with a six inch ext. a 10 mm socket and you should be able to take the hood latch off. You might have to wrench one of the bolts off. After it's open pull on the release on the latch it will pop off then you can bolt it back on the hood. Put your grill and light covers back on after you put your new cables on. It should be easy. Good Luck, Later.
