Re: 4g63 Swap

i am swaping a 4g63t right now. the big difference is if there are awd and fwd differences. if so, then you will have flywheel issues. as well, the ecu should be fine. i know a few guys who have done the same swap and they used their old ecu. as of now, that is all i really know of.

my friend put a jdm 4g63 in his car which has a 4g63 and it bolted up and worked just fine without any trouble with the ecu

Re: 4g63 Swap

The ECU is only a big deal when you use the JDM intake manifold I think. As well you will want it if the engine comes with larger injectors. That is my understanding though, I am not totally 100% sure if that is accurate, but reasonably so.

are you trying to say your friend put in a jdm 4g63 with the usdm ecu with no problem?

Thats not an issue all you have to do is use a FWD flywheel if it comes with a awd flywheel and vise versa

Re: 4g63 Swap

Was it the Cyclone intake Manifold? What about the injectors? It all depends on a few different variables. there is a chance that it could start up right away, but then your fuel mileage could be affected.

Re: 4g63 Swap

I just finished a swap from a 1.8 to a jdm 6 bolt 4g63 used everthing that came with the engine. Bought a usdm ecm and usdm wiring harnes and had no problem at all so you should have no problems going from a usdm to a jdm .
