Another newbie, although an old one!

Hello everyone.

Just discovered this forum.

I'm pushin 60 but am still a die hard gearhead.
Just warmed up a 351 Lightning (alum heads, Cobra intake,
mild hydr roller, headers, roller rockers, bigger mass air & injectors) and stuck it into my 89 Lincoln Mk VII LSC, beefed the AOD couple years ago along with a 2500 stall, hood scoop, Dynomax catback, Cobra wheels.

Plan on using the basic motor, warmed up another couple
notches, in a Factory Five Cobra when I retire.

Also just got into Vettes - had a bunch of muscle in the
60's & early 70's but never a Vette. Like the 81 body style,
so bought one. THEN learned everything I didn't know about
them! Ended up with a lot of nasty fixing to do - esp. rear suspension, brakes, body mounts, floor pans, even rusted out door pillars! Going after that jerk!

Also got a 70 Mustang convert that my daughter drove in HS
and is good mechanically but needs body restoration. My
school trained GM certified excellent custom body & paint son
in law is going to help me with that! I'm more of a wrencher.

Some cars I had back in the good old days and sure wish I
still had! (in chronological order, some were concurrent)
61 Impala Sport Coupe bubble back 348 auto, 64 Galaxie XL 390 4 speed, 66 Plymouth Belvedere 426 Hemi 4 speed (pure factory stock would pull 7200 rpm in 4th with 29" tires and 3:54's - intense experience :-)), 65 El Camino SS 327 4 speed, 67 SS Camaro 375hp 396 4 speed, 68 Nova 350 SS auto, 70 Challenger RT SE 440 6 pack 4 speed. The Hemi, the Camaro, and the Challenger all went thru various stages of buildups from moderate to way too wild. What a trip! Did all my own wrenching, even the (eventually) 600hp Hemi, from scratch.

I've done lots of research on Ford small blocks and especially
auto OD transmissions for my Lincoln upgrades. Here's a write up
I did on AOD's http://www.lincolnsonline.com/article80.html

I often work long term out of state, so spend lots of time on the
internet researching interesting car related info, and have tons
of good links to hot rod tech info for most popular American makes.

I'm a Certified Welding Inspector, have been Quality Control Manager on a number of new power plant projects in all parts of the country last several years.
