Unhappy Charging System not working properly

My 95 JGC is giving me some problems, the batery will die overnight,I get back from work at around 5pm every day and by 5 am the next day the batery is dead and I have to jump it. Some times I have to go out and start the engine for about 20 min at 10pm the night before and it will start in the morning.. but if I dont do this it wont start. The car will run just fine during the day, but if i leave it park for too long it wont start again..I just replace teh alternator 2 months ago..with a new one...

Some days i just disconect the batery at the end of the day and conect it back in in the morning and the engine starts just fine..
Something is drainig the batery but How do I know what? and where?

Is it bad to disconect and conect the battery many times..it will do something bad to teh engine or the computer?

Any help and sugestiond is really appreciated,

I also need to find teh Raio antenna, I broke it in the car wash.. I just need the mast I guess teh motor still running I can hear it every time I start or stop the engine..

Re: Charging System not working properly

You have to find out what circuit is draining the battery. You will need a dc amp meter. Disconnect the battery at the positive clamp and connect one end of the amp meter to the positive clamp and the other to the battery positive. This will show you how much amperage is drawn. Then unplug a fuse and check if the amperage draw is gone. if not , plug the fuse back in and continue doing this with all the fuses until you find out which one is drawing the amperage. For example, if the car is drawing 1.5 amps all the time and drops to nothing when you pull the radio fuse, you know there is a problem with your stereo drawing power and you can leave the fuse out until the problem is fixed.

Need a new battery

Go to Auto Zone or any local auto parts store to get a free testing of the battery, I'll bet it's a dead battery and a brand new alternator will not keep such a worn-out battery charged.

I agree with FISH, I think your battery might be bad and not holding a charge.

Re: Charging System not working properly

it sounds like something is drawing power when your car is not running, I think it should be checked with a amp meter

check out the radio antenna sounds like that is draining the battery if you can hear it running everytime you start or stop the engine
