99 Maxima Service Engine Soon

My son is having very weird problems, his car will be running fine and then all the sudden the car will start to lose power & the lights go dim and sometimes the radio acts like it is shutting off, he lets off the gas and it runs fine but try and rev back up it loses power again, he also just today had a problem starting it but when jumped it started fine? I had the battery & alternator checked by autozone and they said they were fine. I was told it was the Ignition Coils but it sure doesn't sound like iiit to me. Any help?

"the lights go dim" --->Battery might still have internal break, intermittent. Relative cheap and esay to replace.

More likely oxidized groundings; clean ground wires, add one for the alternator. Gnd most likely done like in my -93, see my web site for electrical groundings etc.

Sounds like you may have a intermittant high resistance in your battery.Thing to do is check your output voltage at the alternator "batt" terminal at time of failure. All Nissan control units quit if supply voltages dip below 10.0 volts.Beg borrow or steal another battery for diagnosing purposes.
