Intrepid 2.7 to 3.2 swap

I have a 1998 intrepid with a blown 2.7. Am looking for a 3.2 to swap into it. I need an engine with low mileage,a list of needed parts and any information to make this swap easier

Re: Intrepid 2.7 to 3.2 swap

A 2.7 to 3.2 swap is possible, but there are a number of modifications needed to make it work. New motor mounts, reposition the alternator, A/C compressor, power steering pump, reprogram new computer, A/C hoses; just to name a few off the top of my head.

Yes, it can be done.I have done one.You need the parts mentioned. You also need the throttle cable, heater hoses and 3.2 computor. The 3.2 mounts are the same and will drop in easily. You also need the radatior and a/c condersor. The 3.2 has engine oil lines going to the radaitor.I remember the computer did not have to reprogramed.

Re: Intrepid 2.7 to 3.2 swap

Has anyone heard about a class action suit against Chrysler over the 2.7 liter engine failure?
