front tie rod ends help

I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT sportronic. My drivers side front tie rod end (outer) needs replaced (the rubber boot is tearing). Cant find any place online to buy a replacement. I understand the Dodge Stratus parts are identical to the 2000 Eclipse. I found a dodge stratus parts site to order one, but wanted to get opinions first.

There used to be a great OEM parts site online (conicelli), but they stopped selling mitsu parts. Cant find any other OEM Mitsu parts site online. Anyone know of any, and where I can get a front outer tie rod end (OEM)?

Thanks.

Re: front tie rod ends help

Tour best bet is to go to a fab shop for ATV's, and have them make them for you. That what I did. Mine are now twice as strong as stock. I payed $250 for them. I did the treads though.

naw man, not off hand. to be honest, you'd probably be better off going strait to the mitsu dealer to get the part. or even try discount auto, or autozone. as for installing, i would buy a service manual, and save the cash you would spend on a mechanic. but if you are wary about working on your car, find a good shop. im sure someone else will read this and know of a site.

the install is not a problem. My brother is doing it for me and I have the 3G (2000+ eclipse) manual on CD as reference if needed. I just need to find the stock part. Im not going to pay $250+ for a fab part, not my style. I had the car since it was brand new now for 5+ years, so dont mind buying another oem/stock tie rod end.

junk yard? maybe you could find a wrecked 2003 3G and get its stock tie rod end. as long as the tie rod ends didnt change between the 2000 model and the 2003 model
