Camshaft specs on 98 Z28 and 02 SS??

I've owned my 98 CAmaro Z28 for over a year now and been looking in every now and then. I learned a lot about the car from this site! thanks guys. I know that definately the 02 SS makes more HP than the Z28and recently bought a stock cam that came from an 02 SS. But I don't know what the specs of the cam is. Can anyone tell me the specs of both cams for a 98 Z28 and an 02 SS?? Is it even worth putting this cam in my car? It's all stock except a K+N, airbox lid, and soon a CORSA cat-back exhaust. It's my daily driver right now but I want a few extra ponies to play with if you know what I mean. I know all of you, and definately myself would rather go with a comp cam and rebuild the heads, but that's going to be in the distant future! Any comments or info would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Dan

Re: Camshaft specs on 98 Z28 and 02 SS??

Thanks for the good info. I have a friend that was interested in my old cam when I got rid of it, so I'll just end up giving him the 02 SS cam and save up my money for the actual combo that I want. I don't think I want one as aggressive as Mr. Luos has though, at least not yet, not as a daily driver in the North East. I would get into some serious trouble quick!

As for the double posts, I apologize. My computer acted screwy and somehow I ended up with two instead of one. But I didn't know how to delete the second one, if there even is a way to delete your own thread.

Eh....

This one is a little baby.

The new one I am going to be needing will be pretty big. Thinking something like 244/244 .602/.602 114.

Careful, bigger doesn't always get you better results. It may sound cool but you always have to consider what your other mods can handle. You gotta pull enough air in and enough air out, feed it enough gas, spark, etc. etc. There was a good issue in a magazine that did this. They swapped a bigger cam for a smaller one and they got about 30 more horses. But good luck

Alot of ls1 guys have been having success with the same cam I went with for the 6.0L. It's a custom ground cam from Thunder Racing-TR224
Specs-224/224 .563/.563 112 LSA I did have to jump up to the Comp 918 springs, but I love the cam!
