Turn signal assembley switch

Does anyone know how to replace the turn signal assembley switch in a 95-97 s-10? I have got the part, and only have a partial idea where to start. I was removing the dash benzel to paint it and i broke the hazard light switch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

yep, just replaced one on my son's 95 s10. The emergency flasher was broke and its comes all in one assembly with the turn signal switch. Had to remove the steering wheel (to include the air bag). Once under the steering wheel you'll see a couple a screws that hold the whole assembly in. Also, you'll need to remove the plastic covers to get under the dash to reach the harness plug. The assembly ain't cheap either. I think the dealer charged about $350 for the part. The next week I saw one (New in the box) on ebay that went for $50 (Just my luck).

broken hazard switch

You do not have to replace the whole assembly. I just replaced the switch tonight on my brother's 95 s10. It cost 25 bucks to replace. All you do is follow the following post. Make sure to order by the part number. For how-to, refer to: http://www.s-10owners.com/forum/article.php?a=2 .Enjoy!

You didn't have to replace the entire multifunction switch...They sell the hazard switch fix kit for 17.00 at most dealerships....Tools required: Needle nose pliers....

From the stickied how-to:

Yes people, someone has finally done the Broken Hazard Switch repair because we were stupid when we pulled the dash bezel How-to!!!

This applies to all 95 and up trucks

Tools and Parts required:

Parts:
GM Hazard switch repair Kit part # 15174447

Tools:
Needle Nose Pliers

The hazard Switch kit will come with a small tube of dialectric grease. Smear this on the entire thing before installation.

First look at your old hazard hole. You should see it broken similar to this.

Reach in with your needle nose pliers and grasp the edge of the old switch housing and pull upwards and remove.

You should now have the entire assembly out..

Now simply insert your new hazard switch in hole and push down firmly..

New Switch:

And wala! You're done... Your final repair should look like this.. (though less blurry unless you're not wearing glasses then it will look just like this!

Takes about 3 minutes. If you can't do this repair, you're a complete moron!

Enjoy!

Re: Turn signal assembley switch

This method is a piece of cake, I was about a half hour away from taking entire steering column apart before reading rlith's "how to" on this. thanks buddy, you're #1 in my book too.
