2005 Jeep Cherokee-Front End Module

I just bought a brand new 2005 Jeep and after only having it for five days the front end module went. I am so discouraged with owning this vehicle. They say once they replace the part everything will be okay but I am so skeptical. I already told the dealer that I want a new car because I feel that they sold me a lemon. Has anyone else had this problem and am I wrong for asking for a another Jeep?

i think you mean front control module.just curious, what was the problem?1 problem doesnt make it a lemon.it varies by state but here its like they have to try to fix the same problem 4 times and not fix it or the vehicle has to be out of service for like 30 consecutive days. its not as easy as you might think to get a car bought back under lemon law.if the fcm went out after 5 days,im sorry to here that but thats just one part out of countless other parts.its an electronic component.there are thousands of them out there and odds are some of them will fail.you unfortunately happened to get one.i sympathize but since you asked, yes,i think you are wrong asking for a new car.give it a chance.i understand your frustration since it is brand new but this does happen.hopefully it doesnt get any worse for you but just in case, keep all of your receipts and document everything if you are trying to build a case for a new car.

At least you have a sense of humor and know when your getting your Balls broken.
there's a guy on one of the other chrysler BB who says he's a service writter at a dealership, anytime you say anything negative about chrysler or dealerships he goes nuts and attacks you. He's had arguments with long ranting threads that go back and forth for days.
I've always had the idea that anything purchased can break and i have no problem giving the Manufacturer /seller a fair chance to make it right.

Angry 05 front control module

i too have a 05 just purchased grand with the hemi now with 4,ooo miles, it started with a dead battery and rough accelleration 35-40 mph now the fog lights stay on once in a while the heated seats sometimes wont work the wipers in rain sense arent supposed to work under 32 degrees but they do.my seat will not tilt in the front its stuck, but i think the worst problem though is that it shakes and shudders when accellerating above 2nd gear starts at 35 mph or so but let off accelerater and it smooths out, does it in 3,4 and od or with od off. feels like rough road, the dealer which happens to be where i work said its on back order and should fix the problems but they have to build them as ordered so meanwhile keep the jumpbox handy. i looked for a tsb on the o4 and i found one similar about the shuddering and it was to reprogram the trans control module with new software the mechanic said its the 4-8 shifting back and forth but i drove a 4.7 and it does it too with the quadra drive so its gotta be in the trans. please if any mechanics have a clue on this let us know

Hey I got no problem getting my balls broke.I can dish it out and I can take it.And I can appreciate it when someone comes up with a good one.
You gotta have a sense of humor in this busines.its a fact of life cars break.thats why I have a job.I love it when people say stuff like well my toyota never did this or my honda never did that.Oh yeah?then why do they have service departments?Cars are just machines.expensive machines but they are still machines. The Jeep dealer I work for recently bought Chrysler and Dodge and they asked me to be the "Viper Tech".I recently replaced a trans on one with 1500 miles and the motor on one with around 3000.Thats an $85,000 car.The motor took about 2 months because you have to ship it back to the one and only place that is authorized by Chrysler to rebuild it and when they are done they send it back so the owner gets his original engine back.sux but, oh well.I dont think most people realize how hard it is to design and build a vehicle that can stand up to what people expect.or how hard it can be to try to fix what these rocket scientists come up with.I better quit before I start ranting.I dont want to sound like a Chrysler rep any more LOL!!!
