255/50's

Any AF.com members with Auroras have 255/50/17s on their Aurora. Just wanted to check beyond a shadow of a doubt that they fit.

Several tire stores told me I would have to go with a taller rim, currently running 16's, cost didn't seem to be worth the switch.

umm yea, you can't put a 17" tire on a 16" wheel. The question is will they clear the strut tower and fenders because of the extra 20mm width.

Re: 255/50's

I contacted carmodifier.com and asked for a list of acceptable stock and +1" (17") rims.

They work, no need for any alterations to the fender, no interference with existing hardware in the wheel well.

255/50/17 also maintains stock tire height of 27.1" so its good to go.
