Question 4X4 help

In 4 wheel drive is posible that just 1 front wheel is powered because i engaged 4x4 and and floored on dirt and i believe just the front right tire and rear right spun a little both tires on right side of veh. im not even possitive if my 4 wheel drive is completly engaged, when i push it i hear a couple of clicks then it lights up 4x4 and the front end sounds noisey when drive.I dont want to get stuck on the beach.I have full size 88' Bronco xlt w/auto push buton yes i know auto stinks but its what i have and i want to try and keep what i have for now.i dont want to dump alot of money into it

Yes, only one will spin in the front. Same for the rear unless you have some type of locker.

There are spider gears in there that cause this to happen. Same reason why you can go around corners on the pavement...the outside tire is allowed to rotate faster than the inside tire.
