99 4runner Radio Removal (how???)
I am considering removing my single CD/radio combo and replacing it
with an OEM 6 CD in dash. However, I need to make sure I acquire the correct model, the connections are viable and that there is room. How do I remove the radio ? How do gain access to whatever is holding it in place ? (read: where are the screws hidden and how). Any insights appreciated !! Thank you, |

Re: 99 4runner Radio Removal (how???)
You will need to remove the center covering on the dash board (on the limiteds, this is the wood grain). After this is removed, the stereo screws will be exposed and removing the stereo will be straight forward.
To remove the center dash covering, I pull down and out on the surface around the 2 center air vents (of the covering). I hope this makes sense. |
