Transmission Problems
I have a Honda CRV 2002, Auto, 2 wheel drive with roughly 25,000 miles. Been running smoothly. A couple of weeks ago I left the lights on and the battery went flat - totally dead - no lights even on the dashboard. Jump started successfully and drove around for 1 hour and the battery charged up. For 1 week I could start and drive the car no problem.
I then went on a break and didn't drive the car for 1 week. When I came back, it started without problem but now has developed a rough downshifting into 1st gear as I am pulling up to a stop (in the last 3-4 feet before complete stop). The down shifting into 1st is so rough it jerks the car (and occupants). If I keep the car in 2nd gear ('2') it stops fine without the jerk, so I know the problem is in the auto transmission. Acceleration and upshifting through the auto transmission are all smooth. Anyone have any idea what's wrong and what caused it and what I need to do about it to solve it? Is it related to the flat battery and if so, why did it only appear a couple of weeks after the initial flat battery? Thanks for the advice |

You may need to have the TCM reset. (Transmission Control Module).

Re: Transmission Problems
Did you ever get a good answer to this? I have the identical problem and have been told many things, not sure any of which are actually correct.
Thanks. |
