not to be a dick, post this in the non-performance area next time. second sounds like youve covered your bases. Im not too keen on the clear...too shiny for me. Did you primer it first?

i used vinyal paint(excuse my spelling) and it didnt turn out too hot. I would go with the FUSION spray paint..i forget the brand name bit its good stuff..sold mostly everywhere such as home depot/lowe's..etc. I used that on a couple parts and it came out awesome..its like 5 bucks a can..works good.

no you dont REALLY need primer, just helps it stick better...if not especially here inTX, when the paint gets hot it has a tendency to sometimes start bubbling.

EDIT: Your avatar is distracting...i cant look away! And yes, they do make vinyl paint. You can get it at autozone and similiar places.

Re: painting interior

i painted my whole interior. i didn't sand it or anything. i just wiped it down with some silcon wax remover and then sprayed the paint. what i used was dupont vinyl color (something like that). i had it mixed to the color of my car and it turned out great. the only thing is, don't try to tape off parts that have already been painted because the tape will pull off the paint but i haven't had any problems with flaking or anything other than deep scratches and a little wearing on the door handles. it turned out really nice i thought.

Re: painting interior

I've always read that you should use vinyl dye not paint on interior parts. Is that what you guys are talking about? I was going to dye all the gray or beige parts black and then paint some parts silver like the center console and stuff. I thought you guys might want some of these how to's I had so here ya go. Tell me what you think.
