Seat Belt Light

What can I do about my seatbelt problem. Sometimes the seat belt light works and sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't work when the seat is up for short people, it just stays on. But when the seat is all the way back for tall people, it doesn't even come on. What could I do to fix this?

There should be a wire under the seat, it comes from under the carpet and connects to the seat belt.
I suspect it has been pinched or shorted from moving the seat back & forth.

What do I check for a problem?

Look for a bare wire or a "unnatural" looking wire such as a harsh bend or pinch.
