Re: 4wd

Ya got the good ol mechanical shifter or the electric one? (The mechanical one has linkage going to the T-case, some of the electric ones have a big level like the older ones, but its functunality is no different than the electric ones) If it's the electric, have you checked the fuse that powers it?

Ok I've got a question to you, if you put it in 4 Low do your rear wheels basically go to low range?

Recently I was changing fuel filter and started the underneath of the truck on fire and had to rewire any wire that was under the cab and among these wires was one that goes to the transfer case. The wires that plug in the tail end are for speedo, and there is a coupler or w/e that goes to the transfer case, this is the one that is right above the linkage. Now we though this was just lights so no biggy and didn't connect it. Now when I went for four wheel drive it didnt engage the front wheels, I know this because as we were putting it up on ramps it just spun the rear passenger tire, tried for low range and the tire just spun at idle so get underneath of it and check for this wire. There is the linkage that goes back to a lever and right above this lever(driver side top of t-case) there is your wires that plug in. Hopefully this is your problem, unless it's a fuse and you get lucky.
