'93 s10 help please!!!!

i've got problems!!
5 yr. owner of a '93 2.8L V6 s10 w/ 135K miles. usually runs great.
basically 3 problems.
1. engine bogs down and "check engine soon" light comes on. or
2. oil pressure guage drops and "check guages" light comes on. or
3. while driving "check engine soon" light comes on.
the lights either go out on their own or i step on the gas and they go away. these are all really new problems and i'm nervous to drive. also, is it possible for someone to read error codes if the error light isn't on?
