time belt Question
...I have a civic (1990, 1.5) and the water pump was damage, I changed it and then I put the time belt and everything back. I use the marks for the time belt but my question is how do I make sure its ok, I mean like when I start the car it sound kind of diferent, should I check something? Or if its wrong should it even start?

Re: time belt Question
take the rocker arm assembly off,
you need to get a compression set, make sure that the valve is not in the hose on the kit, charge each cylinder with compressed air & listen for air leaks,(will only work with rockers off) & you should only hear noise coming from the crankcase, other then that you could of left the timing belt loose or the water pump propeller could be bent.

Re: time belt Question
If the car started ok and revs ok, then you are fine. If it starts kinda hard and doesn't rev right, then you are usually only a tooth off in either direction. But if you aligned the timing gears the way the manual said, then you shouldn't be more than a tooth off and you just have to adjust the timing on the cam gear one tooth. That's how I did it when I replaced my timing belt after breaking it.
