Unhappy New Battery

Unfortunately, my batteries dead. I've gotta buy a new one, but I'm not sure how many CCA's it should be. The thing is, the battery that is in my car isn't the proper one. I've been having problems with it. I live in canada, and have very cold winters. Had lots of troubles starting it. What kind of battery/cca's should i get?
My engines a 2.2l, 4cyl. and its a 93 4door cav. thanks for the help.

Re: New Battery

Get the LARGEST number of CCA's you can afford. Most parts stores will have several to levels to choose from. It will last longer and serve you much better. Good Luck.

ALWAYS be wary of "the lastest and greatest" Sometimes it is, sometimes, it ain't. But it is always more expensive. I have a regular battery thet is over 900 cca and I bet it cost 1/2 of what the Optima does. I know how long this one will last. The new Red Top has not been out there long enough. It may be the best battery ever, but that is what they ALL say when they first come out. Anybody seen a Champion Gel Cell lately? They were the "Best, Longest Lasting, back in the 80's"

The optima red top has been out for over 5 years. I paid $110 for mine and the stock replacement was $80. There not that much more expensive. You can completely discharge it and recharge it and not have any problems. There worth the extra money.

Re: New Battery

I hope so. I paid about $80 for my standard battery. $110 if it last 5 years would be good. Here in Fla. we only get 3-4 years out of a top of the line regular battery. I don't mean to come off cynical, it's just I have been around long enough that I've heard the pitch before. I have even seen the same old product come out as "new". Like the new Lexas with headlights that turn. Tucker had that in 1948.
