Project "Electrical Nightmare"

I took some photos today of my slightly finished electrical nightmare project. Got the lcd wired finally , all my nifty lights , black light kit , red guage lights , etc. Should have them up shortly.

Here we are..

Yeah , the cool thing about the monitor is it has two video inputs so i ordered a thermal control box , mostly designed for imports. But what it does is it sends out a digital view of exhaust temp , water temp , air ful mixture , oil pressure , oil temp , and watches the the spark , Which I won't be able to wire in because it's far beyond me but I will do the others , the monitor was a easy attachment now running the wires..gah..nightmare. I hope when it's all said and done , I can achieve what I hoped for it to look like then it's back to attacking the engine and exterior

Re: Project "Electrical Nightmare"

No , when you remove the stock radio , it leaves a gapping hole. Instead of using one of those stupid installation kits for just a deck , don't use one. I mounted my EQ to the bottom of my deck with some metal straps i cut and drilled then screwed and bolted it all in where your's unbolt the stock radio. It's really easy if you got the tools , I had to kinda cram it cause I have a shit load of wires and amp rcas and etc going behind there but they both fit no sweat. You will need to find something to fill the side spaces though , I am using a blue neon deck surround light.one for deck and one for the EQ.

Re: Project "Electrical Nightmare"

Heh , sounds like a nifty system. I'm just using a W7 and pushing a legacy 1000w amp. no cap , have a legacy remote bass booster , lightning audio stock replacements , panasonic deck , volfenhag eq , bolt audio wirings..Legacy monitor..Yeah I know about audio stuff or I wouldn't do this myself. You should have just ordered one of the boxes. I seen one in a pawn shop a while back for 85.00 with two RF punches in it.

Re: Project "Electrical Nightmare"

yeah i was goin to but most i see are for just two 12s and i have three plus alot of them are made from particle board and w/ the subs i got and the bass it will put out particle board will flex too much so i used mdf and got my cousin who is a carpenter to help me build it cause he had the tools to cut all the angles and such but i got this system from a friend and had it w/ about the same box space i do and he hit 153 decible in the db drag race here so its gonna be pretty damn loud if i actually decide to turn it up like that although while driving i wont cause it shakes the windseild so much it makes the road seem blurry

Re: Project "Electrical Nightmare"

and i feel your pain im bout to have to run all the wires for my system again cause i took them all out so that the wiring for two amps, the eq, and not to mention the 1000d amp which i think pushes like 1500 watts rms at 1 ohm requires .5 guage wire which is bigger diameter than a quarter so image running that through the whole car

Re: Project "Electrical Nightmare"

Yeah , running thick wires sucks , sometimes you have to drill for them. which is a big hole to put into something.ran 4 guage wire for the 2 - 500w amps I put into my mazda 6...oops..did I void warranty ? Lol. I don't care. Running the wires through my RS was the biggest nightmare..trying to figure out where everything should run and loop and go ..bah..theres probably over 100 feet of wires added into that car with just the mobile audio/video system.
