engine swap question

I know this is not a Mustang question but I don't see a Tempo forum so..

I have a 94 Tempo with a 2.3 and the motor is shot. I found a 92 Tempo with a 2.3 with low miles that is wrecked. I can get the car for very cheap but am wondering if the 2.3 is interchangable from 92 to 94?

Thanks

Re: engine swap question

As long as it's the same basic motor I would think so. You may have to change something external, like maybe exhaust or intake manifold, accessory brackets, etc, but I would suspect the engine should be essentially the same. You could also check engine specs in a big Chilton type manual usually to be found in the local library.
