Unhappy Another Power window ?

I have searched the window questions but cant seem to find it. Here is my dilema...2001 4D Grandam SE...The drivers side window would stop working for a while and then start again now it has completely stopped I would like to check the fuse/relay but cannot seem to locate it or dont understand the abbreviation (is it under the hood or on the interior fuse panel?)also given how it would work periodically and now has froze up would that dictate that it is the switch or the motor or is it possible that it IS the relay and again where is the darn thing?
Thankyou for your help first time poster here...
Dave

Re: Another Power window ?

Ok, is it ONLY the drivers window acting up?
When this happens, do the other windows still work?
Is the problem only when going down, up, or both?
Does the window seem loose, ie can you tilt it forward as if it were not sitting in the window track properly?

If it is only the drivers side, it could be a couple of things. The biggest things that come to mind is, the Express Down Module which is only tied in to the driver window circuit, unfortunately it is part of the driver's door window switch. Or, since it is the driver's window, it generally tends to get the most use which sets it up to wear out faster causing the window to bind in the guides. HTH so far.

There are no relays except for in the previously mentioned Express Down Module. There is a circuit breaker though which is located in the fuse panel on the right side of the dash when you open the front passenger door. It should be labeled pwr wdw c/b I think.

That did help but before I got to deep into it I remembered I still had 1500 mi. left on an extended warranty...got it fixed by the dealer for free they said it was the motor and regulator.

Re: Another Power window ?

Cool, that makes life easier and cheaper. I had a similar thing happen on my '02 sunfire. The rear strut mount broke apart at 58000kms (warranty was good up to 60k). Because of the mileage, they had to replace both rear struts even though only one was faulty.
