Need Some Help W/ Specs

Ok heres the plan to bore out a h23 then slap a turbo on it. I'm lookin for suggestions on what size should i bore it out to? Im doin the bore out and complete rebuild first. After that im goin to turbo it but thats later down the road. But what size should the bore be as with how much boost to run effectivley? I'm not lookin at doin a fast easy solution I have time and money to put into it so any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm lookin for specs to know what to buy.

Also if anybody who reads this has a hook up on parts that ima need can hook me up with some good deals I'll be sure to put some money in ur pocket for saving me money.

Re: Need Some Help W/ Specs

well if it were me, i wouldnt be drag racing a prelude.

but if it had to be a prelude, i would first sleeve the motor with iron sleeves bored to a safe mm, probably couple mm over, stock crank is good, pauter rods, cp pistons, port polish, full ferrea valvetrain, stage 3 cams if race only, stage 2 cams if its street, some kind of intake mani and tb. and of course all the other little things

Re: Need Some Help W/ Specs

for full race only i would go either GT40 or PT76-GTS

if its for the street i would go with a T4/T67

you shouldn't really need to bore it out too much I know je makes pistons for the h23 that are 20 over (87.5mm)... as far as rods goes crower are good and so are eagle... honda cranks are generally pretty reliable but if you're rebuilding you might as well do a new crank, I now eagle makes cranks for hondas but you'll need to do some research to see if they make them for the 2.3... you will definately have to resleeve it, personally I'd go with darton or golden eagle... that should make your bottom end easily withstand 400hp or more.

Re: Need Some Help W/ Specs

eagle rods are rated at 400whp, crowers are rated at 600whp. if he wants to go 9s in a prelude, he might need more then that.

Re: Need Some Help W/ Specs

a turbo prelude motor is a very bad idea in its own, prelude motors dont last long as is. why turbo a 3000 pound car when you could turbo a crx that weighs 2000 or less. a turbo prelude daily driver is a very bad idea.
maybe i am crazy but turbo preludes that ive seen do eighth miles more around 9.. maybe i should enlighten myself in the prelude forum......

Re: Need Some Help W/ Specs

good look on the input. I'ma look in to some things now. And the only reason im doin this is I know there are many cars out there that will eat me up when im done but prelude's are not very common over here in Va. Everybody is after the engine but not the car and a '89 prelude was my first car and boy I love my Ludes. Really what I'm trin to do is make it the best I can and be original.

Civickiller u said you would only bore it over a lil' bit how much is a lil'?

Re: Need Some Help W/ Specs

h22a were almost built for drag racing. Look at there torque and the torque curve. It makes me cry. I am dropping one ion my friends 93 civic HB with type-s pistons, erou spec manifold, and 100 shot of nitrous among other goodies.
