Re: Ebrake stuck on

Just see if you can push it in nuetral on a flat surface. If so, the brakes aren't your problem. If not, you'll have to determine which wheel is binding. Sometimes you can tell just by feeling which wheel seems hotter after driving some distance.

Re: Ebrake stuck on

There is usually, on most cars, an adjuster thread and locknut type of thing on the cable, possibly under the cover for the e-brake handle. You back it off until the cable relaxes. But if one rear wheel is binding, the problem is probaby in the hardware of the brake set itself, not the cable.

Re: Ebrake stuck on

A broken return or holdown spring in a drum brake can cause this.

I know what it is, I have the same problem with mine.
The joint on the lever where the E brake cable hooks to rusts and binds up. Fron the back side of the hub tap it with a hammer to break it free. You will have to disassemble the unit to free the joint up for good. Take the joint apart, wire brush off the rust and coat everything with assembly lube or some other lubricant that won't was off easily.
