Reprograming remote for 2000 Jeep Cherokee

I own two Jeep Cherokees (2000 and 2001) I would like to reprogram the remote entry transmitter from one to be used with the other. The problem I have is that I have no owner's manual. The dealership told me the directions to do it are in the owner's manual. Can anyone help????

I just had my 2001 Sport programed for a new remote...i was going to move the one from my 97 Sport but after talking to two dealer techs, I found out that they have a special "box" for this and the remote entry unit can be located in either door or under the dash in the security control unit. They only charge $25 each to do it and it can be done in the dealership driveway...and I am in California too.
