2001 Taurus headlight alignment

Does anyone have a diagram for aligning the headlights on a 2001 Taurus SE? When I got this vehicle, it appeared that the passenger-side headlight was aimed a little lower than the driver-side headlight. The vehicle was in a wreck recently (someone cut a left into my path; they paid for the repairs) and the alignment went even further out (natch). When I got the car back, I checked the headlight alignment, and don'cha know, the shotgun headlight appeared just slightly below the driver-side light, just like when I got the car. This has been the same through numerous tire rotations, tire replacements, etc., etc., so I don't think it's the tires (or the suspension, or anything similar, since no one who has ever sold me tires has ever said the vehicle has serious problems). Is this normal, or what's going on here? And does anyone have, or can point me to, a diagram I can use to check the alignment myself?

Thanx.

Talk to the guy at the dealer's parts counter. He may have access to the factory repair manuals.

I don't know what State you live in, but if your State does Vehicle inspections take there and ask them if they can adjust them.

When I lived in Louisiana I did Motor Vehicle Inspections and this was part of the inspection. They might charge a couple of bucks but I think it will be worth it...

Hope this helps...

Robert
