Can anyone tell me if there is a way the Subaru WRX turbo (IHI) can fit on an 1835cc 69 vw bug? or if what turbo is supposed to be used?

Re: installing a turbo
You cant just install the turbo on the beetle... However, you CAN install the WRX or STI motor in your Beetle. Takes a little work, but you can get it in there. I would strongly reccomend using an earlier model Impreza with the top-mount cooler with the NON-awd. Otherwise you can mess up the syncro in the transmisson.

Re: installing a turbo
whitney has a bolt opn turbo kit for 2200 bucks, uses a T25.
and about the engine I am sure that the impreza has more than 90 HP, not sure what but plenty more because if subaru tried sellig a 90HP impreza I think theyd get laughed at.

A new impreza with turbo has 220hp. The WRX STI has 300hp. I know the engine is a flat four, similiar in layout to a type 1 engine, but as far as swapping right in I doubt it. You would need alot of wiring to accomodate the Subaru computer, and a high pressure fuel system, not to mention possibly needing an adapter to mount the engine to the bug transaxle.
