93 s10 starting problem

I have a 93 s10 that would not start recently,i found that i was not getting any spark out of the coil.Changed the coil & it started perfectly for about 3 days on the fourth day same problem, no start no spark.I thought I may have gotten a bad coil so I bought another.Started right up & ran great for a couple of days and then once again same problem.No start no spark.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Also, recently changed parts include fuel pump fuel filter the cpi was checked and found not leaking,cap rotor plugs egr valve are all new thanks.

Have you tried wiggling the connector on the coil? This is just for starters. You may have loosened up the clips (terminals) so that they are not tight.

I will check the connection right now, does that truck have an ignition module?

Is your a 4.3 Vortec...if so the ecm is on bottom of dist in back. 2 sets of wire connectors attached to it.

the exact same thing happened to me. the inlet line springs a leak because the engine heat makes it real brittle. when that baby leaks it load up the plenum where the cpi is. the inlet kit cost me about 70 bucks and stopped the idle/stall problems until my cpi took a crap. that cpi was 425 bucks. Pop your upper air plenum open and look for pools of gas in the plenum floor esp. on the right side near the inlet lines. dont jiggle those 2 inlet tubes to much or you will crack them sure as shit. the replacement are real flexable.

disregard inlet tube stuff ...wrong post..... your cutting in and out could be the ecm failing....when it goes it will be for good until you replace it. remove the wires from the ecm on the back and re connect to take care of oxidation prob......then pop your dist. cap and rotor and disconnect and reattach the leads to the hall switch on the dist. that ecm costs 39 bucks at auto store or free at pick your part junk yard if you want to trouble shoot. sounds like you got electronic or loose wire problem. good luck

Everything you say is true except it is not the ECM. The ECM is the computor in a '93, You are talking about the ignition module.

sounds to me like the coil wires come loose. have you tryed unpluging the coil and then pluging it in again , will it fire up.

hope you get her fixed. electrical problems are a nightmare.

That or you have a short that is causing the coil to burn up.

Check for worn wires.
