93 jgc not running good
my 93 jgc with a 5.2 has a miss in it while sitting at the stop light, once u take off it clears up. I have changed plugs, wires, cap, button. that didnt fix it dose anyone know what else to do. i also checked the sequence of the wires to the cap and that is right. What do i do now its a good jgc so i dont want it to end up driven of a cliff.

The one thing is that you stated that it clears up when you get a higher engine speed. Should run a fuel pressure check to see if you have the right fuel pressure. What is the Voltage at Idle and does it change when your engine speed increases? Try Cleaning the Throttle Body with carb cleaner.Check the EGR to make sure it is working. PUsh in on the valve and see if the engine drops in rpms or misses. Could be a weak coil I would check the Fuel Pressure First.

Re: 93 jgc not running good
grydvs - is it a hard miss, like can you feel the rough idle real bad, or can you barely feel it - like say someone was sitting in the passenger seat can they feel it?
I have a slight miss in my 94 ZJ w/ 5.2L, I can feel it but only when I am feeling for it, and it seems that I am the only one that notices it, I dunno what it coudl be, I have done everything Cam mentioned along with cleaning the fuel injectors. It is still there I have put it aside as being normal idle. I would start with checking the Fuel pressure like cam said. Maybe someone else could clear my problem up - if anyone has a ZJ w/ 5.2L check to see if you have a slight miss while idling, it seems I can only feel mine while sitting w/ out radio or heat/AC on. |
