whats on TV
Hey everyone,
Just in case anyone is into third gens, and is interested. The history channel tonight at 9:00PM is doing a show on the 88 IROC. Its kinda a cross between a history show, and overhaulin. two teams are givin similar 88 IROCs, and have two days to build them up and race in a quarter mile drag race. the winner gets to keep both cars. and if i understand correctly they are also doing a story about the history of the IROC, should be interesting. just thought id let yall know about it.

Re: whats on TV
The Chevy and the Ford in the episode you were speaking of were not properly matched. The Ford was a shitty peg leg and the chevy was a posi that most likely had better gearing. I am a Chevy guy too, of course, but when one has that much of an advantage over the other it's not much of a win if you ask me.

Re: whats on TV
yeah im watching now too, commercial now, they race when it comes back on. I gotta say, from personal experience, i would have gone with the shift kit after feeling the difference it made in my IROC. i didnt feel shit from the catback system, just sounded a helluva lot better. now if they had put on headers i would have agreed with the exhaust systems.

Re: whats on TV
well, that solidifies the rumor i heard about drag racing a 700R4. Note the old guys shifted by hand, and the younger guys left it in drive, and the young guys ran a half second faster. in nearly identical IROC's. when my baby is up and running, it will be interesting to see for myself which is faster.
