anti theft number???????????

ok who has a number etched or sand blasted on there car..mine has and i was told it was a security thing with the anti- theft alarm..is this true or is it an assembly number like was also told it was...its stamped on motor parts by the way....even on the alternator and air intake

ok sooooooooooooooooo am i the only one with this numbered parts car cause no one else admits to having similar numbers..........anyway it does make sense bout the re-selling thing..its a 97 z28 by the way,,,,

No you're not the only one. Reselling your car legally is no problem. But if some loser steals your car and tries to sell parts to a body shop, the smarter shops won't buy parts with the ID numbers on them.

ok very interesting.i tried to trace my id number on the net but cannot find a link that points me to z28 anti-theft id's........maybe its top secret or something..................

oh and don't even mention theft cause even the thought of someone stealing her makes me sad.........
