Taillamp Replacement on 1999

This should be a no-brainer, but it seems an easy way to loose some screws.

Just what do I have to unscrew to get to the inside of my passanger rear tailight. The directional bulb is out and it doesn't seem obvious to me. The screws that are by the hinges look like a pain to replace without losing them.

Use a magnetic screwdriver. remove the 2 screws. The outer edge of the light is loosely hooked into the sheetmetal. Just gently pull the taillight away from the barn door (or gate) and it should pop out of the sheetmetal. Next you need to remove the 2 - 1/4 " hex screws out of the circuit board. Remove the board and replace the bulb. FYI. if the bulb still doesn't work, the circuit board may be bad. We have 2 Suburbans in our Fire Dept, and I have changed 3 out of the 4 curcuit boards. Hope this helps

Once you get the bulb out clean the connection thoroughly and also ensure that it is making good contact, because once you reinstall it they bulb may stop working again because of a poor connection. I found out through many iterations.
