2 lame races for the VR4

Well, I haven't posted in a while...there's been no activity. As some of you from the 3000GT forum know, my car is cutting out and running like crap. I did have a couple very lame races yesterday though.

The first one was with an S10. I was behind him on the highway and he kept speeding up slowing down. He was lowered, and had white headlights, foglights, and tint. Everything else seemed stock. Finally the car in front of him pulled in, and we're going down a hill. I stayed in 5th and kept pace with him. After he went into the right lane, I pulled even and glanced at my speedometer, which said a little over 100. I looked at him, he glared at me, I grinned, put it in 3rd, and left him behind. He tried to pass me a couple more times, each time I let him about a car in front before hitting it, and then proceeded to ahnialate him.

Second lame race: a Neon. I know, I know, but this guy was such a moron. I was in a hurry to get home, and I notice this thing tailing me the whole time. I start passing cars, and he proceeds to get a foot from my bumper; I gave him a little break check which scared him a bit. I pulled in and he hit it, flying by me...yeah, that lasted long. Once again, 3rd gear, bye bye. His second attempt was a bright one. Around a long sweeping turn, which I had the inside (shorter) lane, he thought his car could out-handle mine by so much, he would take me on the outside. After destroying the 2 door twice more, he didn't try to pass again, just rode my bumper. Two lame races, but I had to post something...I'm in withdrawl!

Re: 2 lame races for the VR4

lol i feel ur pain...i barely find any races...but where does ur 3rd gear top out at??? 115? i mean damn...3rd gear at 100 mph would be like hittin the rev limiter hard for my car (of course its a 15 year old maxima SE...but still) what do the VR4's top out at if 3rd tops out that high?? damn...

and i've stopped a neon from doin a fly-by on me...that was pretty funny...but good "lame" races...hey, a race is a race

It's a '93 so it's a 5 speed. 3rd gear ends at around 120 or just over, but I suspect my speedometer is a little optimistic.

Upload a picture somewhere.

Click on "User CP" up top, and then "Signature"

Link it to whereever you uploaded the picture, just as if you would when you post a picture. "[*img]www.whereyouuploadedyourpicture.com/picture.jpg[/img*]" without the *s

Nice kill btw

Yeah, those 3kgt's gearing is just nuts. 120 is incredibly high just for 3rd alone. Too bad about the races though. Ahh, it's snowing here in Utah, can't even go over 30mph anywhere. Sucks. Late...

3rd gear for me is 110 mph or around there. its funny on the high way going from 5th to 3rd, and feeling the power plant come to life.

boosted1: why do you even waste your time with cars like that? I mean isn't it just so stupid its not even fun? if i saw a vr4 i'd know who's my daddy. now if it was just the SL or DOHC Gt now thast a hourse of a differenty color.

Hey man, that GST is nothing to scoff at I'm sure. Nice car. I don't normally waste my time; especially when the GF is next to me. Yesterday was just one of those days though. You probably know how I feel when I say I was just in one of those moods. And cars any faster I'd be scared to run because of the way the car is working right now. Of course, the picture in the sig isn't working. How do I "upload" a picture? I got a new computer...the other one was 8 years old with Windows 95. I'm so excited.

You can upload pics here

My 4th ends at 147, do I get a cookie too? I wonder if it'd go any faster in 5th if it wasn't for the limiter.

Thanks Type S. Now I just have to shrink the photo...it's too big. I would think yours would do a little more than 147 without the limiter. When I owned my 2000 Civic SiR (Si in the US), its 3rd ended at like 90, 4th was done at 110. Now that's pretty freaking low.

You say 4th was done at 110? My 95 Civic EX Can take it nearly to 120 and possibly over (I got too scared at 115, and wussed out, what! Yeah I did!) But I know that it can take it further than 110 for sure. Late...

Re: 2 lame races for the VR4

I normally shift 4th at around 90ish. 4th will take me out to 130mph+

Re: 2 lame races for the VR4

Yeah, don't wanna bring it off topic, but when I had a 95 dx with a swap, fuel cutoff was at either 115 or 120, and you could reach it with 4th and 5th. The funny thing is if you were going 115 in 4th, and put it in 5th, the car would actually slow down.
