Rear Barn door on left does not open

My wifes burb left barn door does not open. Handle will not grab. Has anyone had this problem. Was working fine one day and then nothing. Will not open at all.

Re: Rear Barn door on left does not open

Most likely the plastic clip that holds the rod in position has deteriorated and let the rod slip out. Pull the door panel off and I bet you'll see a rod just hanging there. The stealership usually has those clips for about 30 cents. Hope this helps!

My '89 Burb rear doors wouldn't open either, I had to replace those clips in the past so I opened the panel and found everything intact. I removed the handle mechinism alltogether and I can't even open the doors by pulling the rods by hand. I tried penetrating spray on everything. What would be my next step?

Thanks mrrpm. I will try that. I was going to replace the whole handle. Saved me some money and I am happy with that.

Went to dealer. They had no clue as to what I was talking about. Said I had to order whole door handle for $56.00.

I have the same problem except I can open my left door if I push in on the door from the outside. Would the clips still be suspect or is it maybe something else.
