Lightbulb 1995 Honda del sol vtec vs. 1995 Mr2 turbo

Sup Thugs. Hmm... i've been wondering for the longest time about these two cars. Who do you think would win between a 1995 HOnda del sol vtec and a 1995 mr2 turbo. I've raced one and totally killed it.

Re: 1995 Honda del sol vtec vs. 1995 Mr2 turbo

my b16a2 del sol used to knock the socks off of mr2's with aftermarket setups. given, the mr2's had a lotta custom body work=bondo. IMO the del sol will win everytime. same with the other toyota sports car they discontinued this year, the celica GTS.

1993 was the last year for the MR2 Turbo in the US.

Re: 1995 Honda del sol vtec vs. 1995 Mr2 turbo

i remember reading that a mr2 turbo has a 0-60 of nearly a half second quicker than del sol vtec's, but i must admit my del sol vtec never lost to any of the super (clean looking) mr2's. there was a guy at my college who had a turbo mr2 with a 300zx front end and some more custom body work done to it, and my nearly stock b16 del sol beat him every time. maybe his bondo weighed him down too much cause he was built for show purposes mostly

7.3 sec = Del Sol Vtec's 0-60
6.1 sec = Turbo MR2s 0-60
8.X sec = Non-Turbo MR2's 0-60

1995 was the last year the Turbo MR2 was brought to North America.

As for the MR2 VS Del Sol, the turbo MR2 should win every time.
You are comparing mid-engine rear-wheel drive which is optimal for launching compared to front-engine FWD which is the worse case for launching ~ that is simple physics.
The turbo MR2 has more power.
The only benefit the Del Sol has is weight. It's a lighter car.

Not trying to troll your forum, just trying to give honest facts.

now if you were to build a mid engine, rwd, turbo sol... would be a pretty good run for the money!

Jekyl and Hyde... nice to see you around here... how are the cars doin?

oh yeah... locked.
