idle problems

I have a problem with my car stalling when not shifting fast enough. The other day i replaced my battery and when i did and started it back up i noticed my RPM's were like 200-300 lower then before i changed the battery , it now sits at 800 maybe 700 rpm and before it was atleast at 1110-1200 rpm. Would anybody know what could be causing this?

is your car turbo????????

if it is...check your bov dump tube hose..if it is loose/hanging off..your idle will drop

PS>>>>post what kind of car you have in your SIG...it helps

Re: idle problems

Well for one, your idle SHOULD be 700-800, not 1100-1200. Also, are you recirculating your BOV? You should be (assuming you're on the stock mas setup).

1st off all...eliminate one possibility and get the bov hose on tight..it is the hose from your bov to intake...that can cause idle to drop...and white smoke could be a few things...anyone with some knowledge feel free to correct me if im wrong....
---bad head gasket
---bad turbo(b/c mine was cracked and I had some smoke from my exhaust and then i replaced it and the smoke problem went away)
---could be lack of coolant

im not 100% sure about them and i believe there are more possibilities

time to go check a 90 gsx out with roack2k2(mike)

-good luck man

Lubricant will help...dont over do it

make sure you clamp it down if you can,..should have a stock clamp with it i believe(1st gens do i know)

i bought new coolant hoses at auto zone..im sure they have something to match your bov hose...bring in your hose when you go in
